Diet cultures most forbidden food… until now. Enter the better bagel, the beyond meat of carbs - this company uses food technology to create low carb, low sugar, high protein bagels using plant-based ingredients
.
With an impressive 26g protein, 35g of fiber, 2g of fat and only 5 net carbs this bagel is a macro counters dream.
.
The primary ingredients all recognizable and no shady oils or sugars, are not bad at all and include Modified wheat starch, Wheat protein isolates, Potato starch, Prebiotic inulin fiber, olive oil, Yeast, salt, Enzymes.
.
The taste and consistency are similar to a hearty bread (although I would not go as far as to say this competes with a fluffy NYC bagel by any means) so If you’re looking to add bagels or bread for that matter to your diet, but are mindful of your carb and protein intake than this could be a good option
.
The downside is in the unknown. The company does not disclose exactly how they created the “bagel” only stating a “proprietary process and formulation” meaning, they are unwilling to disclose how they are made, and for me that is a bit concerning.
.
*35g of fiber is also extremely high and for some can cause digestive issues so be mindful when trying this product of that increase in fiber.
.
